I thought of another good thing I did. I gave them homework. The homework requires them to predict what would happen to a balloon if it was chilled and if it was heated. They must draw, label, and explain. I did this to see what their misconceptions are. I really want to know what they think is going on. They are determined to only tell me what they think I want to know. I wish I had a better poker face.
